Description
We are seeking experienced Window Installers to join our company. As a 1099 independent contractor, you will be responsible for installing windows in residential homes, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. This role offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to manage your own business operations while working with a steady stream of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install a variety of window types, including double-hung, casement, sliding, bay, and specialty windows, in residential homes.
- Measure window openings and adjust frames as necessary to ensure a precise fit.
- Remove old windows and frames while minimizing damage to surrounding areas.
- Ensure proper insulation and weatherproofing during the installation to maximize energy efficiency.
- Install window hardware, screens, and other accessories as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by protecting homeowners’ property and cleaning up after installation.
- Communicate effectively with homeowners to understand their expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Use and maintain your own tools, including drills, saws, levels, and caulking equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Address and resolve any installation issues to guarantee proper window function and appearance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a window installer in residential settings.
- Expertise in handling different types of windows and materials such as vinyl, wood, aluminum, and fiberglass.
- Ability to read and follow installation manuals, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and installation techniques.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must have your own transportation and installation tools.
- Valid driver’s license and general liability insurance (required).
- Physically capable of lifting and installing large windows and working in various positions (kneeling, climbing ladders, etc.).
- Knowledge of local building codes and best practices for window installation.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems on the job, and meet project deadlines.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible schedule based on job availability and your preferred workload.
- Ability to accept or decline projects as they fit your schedule.
Compensation:
- Pay is project-based, with competitive rates determined by the scope of work.
- Payment will be made direct deposit weekly upon completion of each project (specific terms to be discussed).
- Potential for ongoing work based on performance and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Must operate as an independent contractor (1099 status).
- Responsible for paying your own taxes, insurance, and managing your own business operations.
- Must adhere to all local building codes and regulations for carpet installation.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain necessary contractor licenses if required by local or state regulations.
- Must have or be willing to get the EPA required Lead Based Paint Renovator Certification for work done in homes built before 1979
- Must have business General Liability and Worker's Comp Insurance
- Must have a reliable vehicle and/or trailer to pickup and deliver product safely to jobsites.
